Welcome to my teacher resource page! Here you will find all sort of helpful information. These are sites on the internet that I have found useful in my own professional career, so in the spirit of professionalism, I thought I'd share! If you know of other sites that would be helpful for others in the teaching profession, please email me and let me know ; I'd love to add to this list of links! This page is divided into the following categories: (1) Finding a Job (2) Professional Organizations (3) Teaching Resources (4) Instructional Sites for Students & Classroom Use (5) Best Practices in Education Finding a teaching job is practically a job in itself. Putting together an effective resume, writing cover letters, and getting all your materials together and in the mail is a time-extensive process. Even without the actual job search process, one can get tired and frustrated- just by trying to keep up. In an effort to make the job search process a bit easier, I have put together a list of web sites that list teaching jobs for those in the English field. Best of luck!
The Academic Employment Network This website lists various teaching jobs for all educators. Simply select the state where you want to teach and the network will pull up all the listings they have for that state.
This site details a map of the United States. All states that have current teaching vacancies will be highlighted green. Simply click on the state you are interested in and all of the teaching vacancies for that state will appear!
To use this website you must be a member. However, there are other great sites listed under the "resources" section.
For those teachers who want to teach in a Lutheran school, this is the site to check. It will list schools that are close to you by miles or by cities.
Run through the University of Minnesota (Minneapolis Campus) this site is similar to K12jobs.com. By using a map of the US, the user clicks on a state and is then given a list of open jobs within that state.
This site offers a free registration and will even send a standard application to all the schools that have openings in your area! What's more, you can browse postings by field or location. In addition, this site has various links to help with such things as resumes and cover letters.
This site is maintained by the WI State Department of Public Instruction. Once connected to this site you can check for Wisconsin jobs by school, position, city, keyword, or category. The DPI updates this site weekly.

Here is a brief listing of various professional organizations one can be a part of. Since I can't list them all, I only listed those which are general enough to apply to all teachers, or those which apply specifically to English teachers. These links are also great resources for help, lesson plans, or just to look around. At most of these sites, you can also find out how to become a member. Being a part of a professional organization is a great way to stay in touch with a major field of study.
